765614 2009-04-19 05:25:00 Hi Gary67,
Enjoy your tramping.
Where are you going?
We are lucky in Nelson.
Plenty of tracks.
I have done oodles of tramping in the past.
But am too infirm now, regretfully.

Took step son and his friend to Salisbury Lodge up behind Mt Arthur on the tablelands, was pretty cool 2 Wekas roaming around the hut area, lots of Bellbirds on the walk in, Moreporks in the night real good trip

Yes, Tramping is a great pastime.
I stayed in the old Salisbury hut, before the latest one was built.
Must have been about 1975.
The Heaphy is great too.
It is good to walk it in winter,
when it is not so crowded.
Tramping is addictive too,
if you have got the time.
But it is good for you!

765617 2009-04-19 07:10:00 Personally I mix Milo in my porridge for breakfast. The old Salisbury was replaced in 75 according to the sign at the old site. Yes I have been tramping on and off for 20 years all over Europe, Canada and Alaska but never in the lower 49 as Surfer Joe would say of the other states. By the way does anyone know if SJ is related to Chicken Joe in the movie Surfs up? gary67 (56)

Seeing wee are talking about peeing now...

I seem to pee a lot more than I drink.

Does anyone else have that problem?

Hi gary67, if you are still there,

I have just spent the night sleeping under the stars in the bush on the Canaan Rd .
Had the babbling of a brook to keep me company .
And soft leaves to lie on .
I will attempt to give you a Snapfish link, to 3 photos I took at my resting place . . . . .
