765145 2009-04-15 00:07:00 Personally, I found the 2 words "yes Dear" to work pretty well - yes, and "it wasn't me, the dog did it" is always a very good excuse if "yes Dear" does not work.

765146 2009-04-15 00:27:00 sarel congratulations.

Had our 25th yesterday. I got my mrs some Lladro called "Happy Anniversary" I managed to get a wow out of it which was nice.

"yes dear" has worked fine for me for many years on a lot of topics.

765150 2009-04-15 03:26:00 As far as Divorces go our minister in the Church spent about 15 minutes talking about the NZ divorce statistics we were not amused nor were any of the guests, but it has been a talking point for years after.

At our wedding we had a bloke video it as my Inlaws and family were in the UK so we decided that would be nice. This was in early video days where the camera was like a big TV Broadcaster size camera plus a big battery pack that you strap on your back.

The Reception lighting was set for romantic I think as the camera just could not cope very well so it is like a horror movie.

I put the video on a DVD and we watched it on Tuesday, sad to say almost all the people in it are now dead or divorced.

A phone?! :yuck:

765152 2009-04-15 06:39:00 Solmeister - yessss, that I am. SWMBO caught me out early in the married life still reading the paper while she did the talking. I made the fatal mistake to ask a bit later one evening about a friend, not remembering that she discussed the ins and outs of said friend earlier (while I read the paper). Since that day, I put everything down when SWMBO wants to talk, I ask questions, but in most cases I just listen.

Mrs T and I are coming up our 23rd (I was a late starter, couldn't find a woman that I liked that would have me, and those that would have me, I didn't like) but anyway I trained Mrs T from the start to expect me to remember nothing, that way she is never disappointed and tends to write things down on brightly coloured pieces of paper and leave them in prominent places, like stapled to my forehead or attached to food.

It works for me!

Cheers
