860434 2010-02-22 05:08:00 To completely disable the run command is NUTS. I tried that here, didn't work. Any way, the OP didn't want to disable it, only enable it.

Only XP Pro has gpedit -- its not in XP home.

860435 2010-02-22 05:11:00 Yes, I know, I was telling the OP to check if the option was enabled...

And I know XP Home doesn't have GPE....what is your point exactly...?

The point is the method you suggested may have worked for you, but didn't for me - the method I suggested, may or may not work for every one as well. So theres two options / suggestions.

Who gives a toss as long as one works.

860437 2010-02-22 05:42:00 OS is Windows XP Embedded 2009.

I managed to allow access to the task manager and from the file menu can initiate a new task.

I do not want to do this permanently... this is just for testing purposes to achieve a particular goal.

I may have found a solution for what I want to do, so thanks for all the advice.

Cheers,
