860303 2010-02-21 08:04:00 Link in No 8 is from Intels site, latest drivers for that model, well almost its for the DQ35JO Should be close enough, as the E can be simply an enhancement or something. Many boards (models) use the same driver. wainuitech (129)
860304 2010-02-21 08:18:00 Thanks have installed that 70mb download.. Ran in compatability mode as per previous link. Bit confused as only compatible with vista but carried on.
Have rebooted ,, sound is back .. we will see how long for.

The driver date in device manager says 21 10 2009 ??

860307 2010-02-21 09:06:00 OPPS! my mistake, :o read it wrong about the date thats 2nd November 2009 ( Damn yanks always have the day/month round the wrong way to every one else)

On the actual drive download
Ver:5964 Date:11/2/2009

OS:Windows 7, 32-bit*, Windows 7, 64-bit*, Windows Vista 32*, Windows Vista 64*, Windows XP Home Edition*, Windows XP Media Center Edition*, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition*, Windows XP Professional*

Seems its the same driver for both 32 & 64 Bit- but some may experience problems with 64 XP without the patch.

read somewhere to install in compatability mode Yep - I read that to someplace - shouldn't have to.

One other thing I was reading - dont happen to have a blue tooth audio device do you, sometimes if you do the sound drivers can switch over to different devices and kill the other as the default.
