2009-04-22 11:03:00 | What do you guys think of their: Desktops Laptops Service Delivery Pricing etc etc.... Me: I think their Desktops components are average quality. I think their Laptops are decent, esp given their customisation options. Service is, well, typical of a big PC firm, Delivery is reasonable, Pricing is very competitive... :2cents:

I get my computer bits and pieces from QMB at Stoddard road (blardy helpfull nice dudes) but they cant match a Dell package. |

2009-04-22 11:23:00 | If I wanted 20 PC's for one office, Dell might be on my list to consider, but for home use? Not even a starter. | R2x1 (4628) | |

2009-04-22 12:17:00 | And they do make some really nice lcds I think you will find that they don't actually make them but just have a Dell label.

2009-04-22 12:31:00 | Hueybot3000 summed it up nicely: "you pay for what you get" . I know what he was trying to say - although I might have phrased it slightly differently: "You get what you pay for" - I think there's a (very) small difference . . . . ;) I only use Dells if that's what a client has available . My experience is that there is a relatively high failure rate with Dells, comparing against other brands that the corporates use . In Dell's favour, they do turn around the failures pretty quick (for corporates, that is), but I would rather not have a machine fail at all . Downtime costs money and adds to staff frustration levels .
