767184 2009-04-22 03:04:00 Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how quickly Dell deliveries are happening at the moment.

My status so far:

20-Apr-2009 Order released to manufacturing
21-Apr-2009 Manufacturing Build Complete
21-Apr-2009 Ship from Factory
22-Apr-2009 Loading for Export

Cheers,
Nick

767185 2009-04-22 03:40:00 I don't know about right now, but when I ordered a laptop in January it took about 5 days after it was "Loaded for export" to arrive. The machines are assembled in Malaysia, air-freighted to Auckland, and then sent out by courier (PBT Couriers). somebody (208)
767186 2009-04-22 04:56:00 Can confirm that - while I wont touch Dells apart from fixing them - people who I know that ordered them say 5-7 working days from placing an order. wainuitech (129)
767187 2009-04-22 04:56:00 It says on their site "7 - 10 days delivery"

If you make fixing computers your full time job, you will change your opinion

Surely you would like computers which break down, since it means more work for you?

Business logic says that, but most techs really do want the best for their customers - it isn't a hollow marketing phrase for us.

767193 2009-04-22 10:59:00 My Dell Dimension 5150 (with xtras) has been going well since June 2006.
It took 6 days to turn up.
It was a computer built with things I wanted like fdd and 19" lcd monitor
Key board, a key died rung the help new keyboard arrived next morning
Every thing just clicked together and worked straight out of the box.
I dont care if it dies now I wont even fix Ill take it to the skip bin at workand order another one from Mr Dell
Owner me a computer retard too scared to touch anything.
Amount of money spent on pc technicians = zero
No wonder you buggers dont like them
