767314 2009-04-25 23:49:00 If Sky does decided to put Prime on Freeview , they will most likely take off programs like top gear and mythbusters and move them to a sky channel.
RE. WilliamF comments, there are many people like him, who don't like digital.
Both in music and vision, They like the analogue sound. Luckily digital radio
(DAB) has not reached NZ. Not the best in sound quality, FM is better (as long as it is not heavily compressed)

Yes an MP3 can never sound as good as a CD but then again most of the good music was meant for vinyl with all it's attendant background noise and most was definitely not meant for surround sound systems.

767320 2009-04-27 05:02:00 I may be a suspicious old coot but a news item I read made me wonder. Sky is shifting "Eastenders" over to UKTV starting May.

Perhaps they are stripping all the popular programs from FTA to PayTV before finally saying "OK - here is Prime for the Freeview system"

Ken

In that case, you can call us both suspicious old coots, because that was my thought too. I'm growing far too cynical in my old age :illogical

Bill.

767321 2009-04-27 08:12:00 Its the damn fools paying for sky that encourages them.

Couldn't agree more.

Who needs Sky when you've got the internet (and if you know where to look, you can find pretty good streaming links of alot of top sporting events)
Ok - they won't look that great on a 42 inch plasma but perfectly fine watching them on my 17inch lcd in my office.
