766993	2009-04-23 03:36:00	What's wrong with Hot air Island, Mainland and Stewart Island? It's extremely obvious which side of the Strait you are domiciled. Your comments are highly offensive and perhaps even slightly racist. But then I am forgetting myself. My skin is much too white to be offended. While I do agree that North and South Island are not the most imaginative names that could have been thought of, it is certainly much easier for the tongue and easier on the ear. But why, I wonder, are trivialities such as this brought up every now and then? Is the real reason that some debate (or whatever) is proceeding in parliament that the powers that be (or whoever) want to keep quiet until the (perhaps) controversial law is passed? A smokescreen? What is going on that someone does not want us to know about, so they start up some stupid bloody debate designed to keep the masses looking the other way? This goes back to the H debate, The name of a place is whatever the locals call it, Not what some "academic" decrees it should be. This board of shitbags is redundant before they even started, they want to know what a place is called, Look on a map or ask a local. Job done. No one needs this fluffy money wasting crap.
