You might not get a paper at all tomorrow:-)

I don't get a paper and rarely watch the news. 99% of it is bad news anyway and why should I be depressed through other people's misery.

My neighbour's paper arrives about 4-30-5am every day.

NZ Herald is APN not fairfax. DOn't know why anyone buys the paper these days, as it is all online, and the paper is out of date by the time you read it.

767147 2009-04-22 08:58:00 Your lucky you can't get a morning paper in Nelson the local rag is not in the shops until lunch time and if you want it delivered you have to wait for the kiddies to finish school gary67 (56)
767148 2009-04-22 09:02:00 When I lived in Pokororo the newspaper was called the Nelson Evening Mail as you would expect you got it in the evening.
Is there a new newspaper now?

767149 2009-04-22 09:04:00 That's what I meant there is no local morning paper and you are correct it is the Nelson Evening Mail gary67 (56)
767150 2009-04-23 09:22:00 I get the Herald and it usually arrives at around 6:30. That much is reliable but the brain-dead delivery person can't be bothered putting it in the milk box properly and if it is raining it gets soaked. I used to ring and they'd promise to deliver another but they never ever came.

The trick with delivery issues is to be polite but persistent and I kicked up big time, so it appears that I have got the Herald to the point where a wet paper is taken seriously and the last time it happened a replacement was delivered by Taxi.

It hasn't fixed the delivery idiot though, he/she now sticks it in the paper section where both ends stick out to get wet!!

Roll on the next wet morning!

Cheers

A tricky one here . . .
Have you thought of getting a mail box that you can put paper in which it doesn't get wet .

Some times called a larger one?

767152 2009-04-23 21:22:00 If my paper gets wet, it is axiomatic that "They" are at fault for not double folding my paper to fit the fashionably minute letter box.

Be thankful you don't live in Papakura with it's privatised water supply; the paper would probably be weighed and your water bill increased accordingly.

767153 2009-04-24 14:58:00 The price you pay for the NZ herald is to cover distribution and delivery, the Newspaper is actuallly free- Saturday Heralds cost over $2.50 each just to print, with a circulation of just under 300K -

The Saturday Herald Real Estate, Motoring and other advertising sections carry a bit over $3,000,000 in advertising, and that is what the Herald is really all about - the news and other reading material is merely a vehicle for getting the advertising to the subscriber/reader.

During circulation audit periods, there are additional wrapped Heralds printed as give-aways, the purpose being to artificailly boost circulation figures as this directly influences advertising revenue.

767154 2009-04-24 18:53:00 At five minutes and six seconds after 4 a.m. on the 8th of July this year,

the time and date will be 04:05:06 07/08/09.

This will never happen again.

767155 2009-04-24 21:34:00 Late??!! You don't know what late is, if I order one it arrives 5 days later.
So I have no choice but to read it online.
