861363 2010-02-25 20:42:00 I got daemon tools but it was fine when I was using XP, I guess I'll uninstall it, but DT is so handy
What version of DT are you using? The latest one has support for Win7 and works fine on my x64 PC.

861364 2010-02-25 20:53:00 I'm pretty sure it was the newest version, uninstalling it doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. Netsukeninja (13296)
861365 2010-02-25 21:28:00 Delete it in device manager then reboot. See what happens Speedy Gonzales (78)
861366 2010-02-26 02:21:00 I'll tell you what I've done.

1. Uninstall via device manager
2. uninstall daemon tools lite
3. update firmware
4. scanned for viruses, hjt, etc

So far nothing seems to work.

861367 2010-02-26 02:27:00 Try another cable. And if its IDE, make sure its jumpered properly Speedy Gonzales (78)
861368 2010-02-26 02:34:00 Will it boot a live Linux CD like Puppy?
That should tell you if it is a hardware or software problem.

861369 2010-02-26 02:37:00 I can't put a CD in to burn one, but I have LM8 on a flash drive I'm going to try later.

Ok well with LM8 on the usb stick I can create an image of the CD I want with Brasero, so I think its safe to assume this is a windows problem.

This drive works perfectly fine in Linux so I don't think the cable would be at fault. I'm stumped.

861370 2010-02-26 02:49:00 Its probably something you've installed thats stuffing it up. Post a HJT log Speedy Gonzales (78)

861372 2010-02-26 07:15:00 Hmm that looks ok. Does Win7 freeze with any cd or dvd? Or just certain ones?

What version of Avast is this? Just the AV not the firewall?

If its under warranty replace it
