AESTSRV.EXE has been the subject of the following behavior:

* Created as a new Background Service on the machine

With credit cards, I watched a doco on Identity fraud testerday. It showed people in shops secretly swipoing credit cards on a special scanner.
They then connect that to a laptop and transfer it to phone cards. Voila, they have a fake credit card with YOUR details on it.
These people got these jobs just so they could steal the card info.

So other than spyware on your PC, there are other methods of stealing your info.
This doco was specifically about UK criminals.

861075 2010-02-23 23:33:00 I think that file is actually related to SigmaTel or SoundMAX audio drivers... But that path is odd

Maybe it's a virus pretending to be an audio driver..

861078 2010-02-24 10:58:00 I have a debit card account that I only use for internet purchases. I firewall it by not having it linked to any other account (cannot be used as swipe card) and with no overdraft. Had to request that, else overdraft is automatic (ads say you are only spending your own money...sigh). Then I transfer into it what I estimate spending online with a little overhead to cover conversion costs.

Of course that still begs the question how did they get your security password. Mothers maiden name as normally suggested by the banks shouldn't be too hard to find on online data-bases if they had your name and address from the online purchase.

Try using PayPal for your purchases if possible, they bill you in NZ dollars so there's no conversion fee from your bank.

861080 2010-02-24 11:52:00 It is worth remembering that our credit cards have a percentage skimmed off by the credit card companies for every transaction we make.
I consider this to be another type of credit card fraud, because they take too much and must make astronomical profits out of their customers.
The cards are very handy though.

861081 2010-02-24 12:22:00 Didn't know that about PayPal. Haven't really trusted them after hearing horror stories about them. Dont they take their own skim of the top though? Robinz (9362)
