At a conference on Thursday, Pat Lam downplayed incidents involving some members of his team. "It's not just our team, it's society in general." ""We have that culture right throughout New Zealand. The amount of murders we have, they get pushed and some people break - it's not isolated to just our team, it's society in general." Oh. Right. So we're a let-down if we don't get drunk every Friday night and bash random passers-by? Sorry I'm letting the side down by not being a drunken loser. I promise to try harder. |

We all know people who get scrappy when they they have had a skinfull. Its the drink which is the cause of the trouble and certain people are known non handlers of alcohol. |

Alcohol doesn't make certain people scrappy - it simply removes the mask they wear that hides it when sober. They always were/are violent; alcohol just makes them feel like they can drop the act. In the same way, alcohol doesn't make a normally unattractive man/women suddenly gorgeous enough to take home for the night - it just removes your standards. I'm a level headed chap, and I've had sessions on the turps in my younger days that left unable to stand; I just got giggly and a bit random  |
