861353 2010-02-24 20:29:00 My dvd burner is not working.
It used to work, I just tought that it could be that it isn't working anymore because a lack of a driver.
6 months ago I installed windows 7 ultimate.
Now I can't burn DVD's anymore, the pc just doesn't realise that there is a dvd in there ready to be burned (it thinks it's empty, or at least it doesn't see a dvd that can be burned).
I've a LightScribe dvd writer, but I've no idea where you find the more specific info of it.
Thanks in advance :)

861355 2010-02-24 20:37:00 If it used to work, it must have a satisfactory driver already.

Is it visible in Windows explorer? Can you still read disks ok?

I see 3 drivers under it:
HP DVD writer 740b ATA device
IDE-DVD DROM6261 ATA device
RAL L2JCXEV SCSI CdRom drive

861357 2010-02-24 20:52:00 uninstall the driver for each entry and reboot.

the OS will reinstall the drivers upon rebooting

861359 2010-02-25 07:45:00 Sorry for the thread hijack but I also have a problem with my DVD multi drive, it has stopped working properly.

Whenever I insert a CD/DVD it spins up, and then Windows 7 just freezes forcing me to reboot. I've already updated the firmware and reinstalled the drivers, but to no avail. Any ideas?

861360 2010-02-25 08:01:00 Have you installed anything like cd creator / anything like daemontools, or similar? Speedy Gonzales (78)
861361 2010-02-25 10:17:00 I got daemon tools but it was fine when I was using XP, I guess I'll uninstall it, but DT is so handy Netsukeninja (13296)
