769021 2009-04-28 11:59:00 If this 'epidemic' continues the butchers might be getting cheap pork coming in soon :clap bob_doe_nz (92)
769022 2009-04-28 12:34:00 There is no cure to a virus.

Yes that is right, tamiflu only helps with the symptoms. Antibotics also won't do anything to cure it. The main threat from this flu, is developing things such as Pneumonia from it.

769023 2009-04-28 20:03:00 I do watch these flu developments with some unease.

For a start, I'm in the at risk 'healthy' age group, plus I have a very elderly mum in the house who may also prove vulnerable.

Secondly, my work brings me within inches of peoples faces, and I often have people saying "I've been given the day off because I'm sick... so I thought I'd come here and see you" (gee, thanks for the bugs, buddy).

Bloody anoying - too sick to work, but still circulating their bugs in town instead of staying at home.

Just further effects of Global Warming I guess. :crying

769027 2009-04-29 03:10:00 Governments around the world these days love to put the frights up people, it probably makes people more pliant and easier to control if they are continually scared about things.

From what I've heard so far if reporting is accurate with the NZ cases and those outside of Mexico, this strain of flu is so mild as to be hardly noticeable as influenza.

The 3 times I've had flu, real flu, not the common cold "flu" people have and say they have had "a touch of flu", I have been knocked back for several days (in bed) with aches & pains, very high temperature, and have taken another week or two to come right.

769028 2009-04-29 03:22:00 Pigs get the virus from chickens and pass it on to humans

I blame the breakdown in moral standards
