768473 2009-04-27 06:52:00 Many sympathies Greg, of all those we lose, somehow it is our Mums we miss most. Time does help, and all the good memories.

768474 2009-04-27 07:37:00 My sympathies also Greg. Take the time to remember your mother and I hope you have family and friends to share the good memories with. Its a time to be together.

My father died just over a week ago. He was 89 and it shouldn't have been a shock.....but it was anyway. It will take a few months to get used to the idea that he's no longer around.

768475 2009-04-27 08:07:00 Big hugs sweetie from the beetle clan.....
Take things real slow, and savour those memories......

Life does change drastically and we do learn to cope, but the missing them never goes away. Hope you have a great and wonderful family around you right now, or some special friends...... all the F1 clan is thinking of you by the looks of it..

and W001 big hugs to you too......

768476 2009-04-27 11:13:00 My sympathies to you, also, Winston. Even when we may think it won't be a shock it doesn't make it any easier.

I hope you and Greg don't mind if I print this from a service sheet we attended a couple of weeks ago. The words left an impression on me.

We can shed tears that they have gone,
Or we can smile because they have lived.

We can close our eyes and pray they will come back,
Or we can open our eyes and see all that they have left.

Our hearts can be empty because we cannot see them,
Or we can be full of the love we shared.

We can remember them and only that they have gone,
Or we can cherish their memory and let it live on.

We can cry and close our minds, be empty and turn our backs,
Or we can do what they would want us to do: Smile, open our eyes,
love and go on.

768479 2009-04-29 05:45:00 Well we laid our mum to rest this afternoon, in one of the most scenic parts of the world, in the Taradale hills South of Napier.

Very upsetting occasion, but it's a step closer to acceptance and closure of the issues.

And tomorrow me and my young brother travel to Melbourne to see my daughters and baby grandaughter., so hopefully that'll be another step ahead.
