769010 2009-04-28 08:24:00 I was initially a bit concerned, so I took out all the bacon from the fridge. None of it had lost weight so it wasn't likely to fly. Then I took it's temperature, it was far from any kind of fever, so we appear to be safe for the moment. R2x1 (4628)

769013 2009-04-28 10:19:00 They had an expert on the radio yesterday, he explained that the flu virus is made up of eight components, and when it comes across another flu virus it can drop parts of itself and adopt parts of the other, He description was like a hand of cards, where you could drop a few cards and replace them.

This virus has components of bird flu, pig flu and human flu.

However that doesn't mean its any more deadly then the other dozen flu's doing the rounds.

Well it has been confirmed to be swine flu. It is more dangerous than other flus, becuase it can mutate further and it is also killing healthy people aged between 20-40, which is supposed to be the most healthy age group.

I was only reporting what the disease expert had to say, he did go on to say it didn't have any special abilities over a normal flu, and that it hadn't yet demonstrated it was more dangerous then any other.

769017 2009-04-28 10:40:00 The dangerous thing about the swine flu is the fact that a normal human cannot make the antibodies required to seek out and kill the viruses. The symptoms of the infection may well only be as bad your every-winter-bad-flu. Though of course with the normal flu your body can create antibodies against it. qazwsxokmijn (102)
769018 2009-04-28 11:36:00 The good news is that Tamiflu seems to work against this strain of the flu so there is a cure! beeswax34 (63)

There is no cure to a virus.
