768580 2009-04-26 09:38:00 To be honest, I don't care if it isn't offered in the home versions, as the only program I'd be likely to run under that is ten years old, and is already on my netbook. pcuser42 (130)
768581 2009-04-26 09:42:00 I wonder whether the key will be tied to a particular version of XP - i.e. in the same way that some keys are tied to a particular OEM version?
OH the decisions :waughh: - this is going to be "interesting"

Seems its going to be a download from M$ (XPM) - But I also wonder if it will look for the approximate product key (Professional, Ultimate OR Enterprise) and only install on those versions.

Make Mental Note: Try XPM on W7 lower versions when available :p

If they're graphics intensive, and don't work under Vista, then they're unlikely to work under W7.

So that Windows XP Mode is going to be somthing that maybe a lot of people might want or maybe get the cheapest version of Win 7 for DX 11 and dual boot with your old xp.

768587 2009-04-26 11:27:00 I think it's going to be mainly redundant actually (if cool :D), except for legacy business applications or very old software.

I think it's great the way it's been integrated though.

There are very few applications (I've found) that do not run on Vista or Windows 7. Have a read of this tweet (twitter.com) of mine - it gives some perspective as to how old XP is...

768588 2009-04-26 14:21:00 I think I will stay with XP for my games and Linux for all the modern fancy cool stuff for FREE!!!

Reason being I dont want DRM and HDCP that is in Vista and Win 7.
