| 768374 | 2009-04-26 01:47:00 | Excuse me for asking. Why is the new Laptop a she rather than a he?:horrified Computers - Male or Female ??? Reasons computers are MALE They have a lot of data but are still clueless. A better model is always just around the corner. They look nice and shiny until you bring them home. It is always necessary to have a backup. They'll do whatever you say if you push the right buttons. The best part of having either one is the games you can play. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on. The lights are on but nobody's home. Big power surges knock them out for the night. They are supposed to help you solve your problems, but half the time they ARE the problem. Size does matter. Reasons computers are FEMALE Picky, picky, picky. No one but their creator understands their internal logic. They hear what you say, but not what you mean. Beauty is only shell deep. When you ask what's wrong, they say "nothing". Can produce incorrect results with alarming speed. Always turning simple statements into big productions. Smalltalk is important. You do the same thing for years, and suddenly it's wrong. They make you take the garbage out. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to anyone else. Even your smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory for later retrieval. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it. The message "bad command or file name" is about as informative as "If you don't know what is wrong, then I'm not going to tell you." Miss a period and they go wild. (From here (www.angelfire.com)) |

| 768377 | 2009-04-26 09:39:00 | Speech recognition always takes a bit of training. If you take the tutorial, it'll start learning. :) | pcuser42 (130) | ||

| 768379 | 2009-04-29 19:11:00 | ditched the page file, running on pure ram, the graphics appears to be shared with main ram leaving ~2.8 gig. 256MB dedicated graphics ram with 1150MB shared or about 1.4 gig total. i might have a look in bios as im not into hardcore gaming etc (but might get into it none the less :D) will have a look at PC decrapifier but i removed some of the HP crapware and *shudder* nortons internet security and replaced with trend micro as soon as i got it :D |

| 768383 | 2009-04-30 05:02:00 | i guess trend micro isnt any better :waughh:. Thats a tricky question, as nothing is as bad as Norton, so I guess it is slightly better. You would be better off just clicking NO to everything that pops up, and dont use any p2p or torrents. I would put my money into NOD32. Or go with a free product, I cant recommend any but others will say Avast or Avira are good. |
