| 769252 | 2009-04-28 23:54:00 | Google Adsense has recently introduced interest/relevant ads based on your (and others using your PC) internet surfing habits. If you look closely at a adsense ad, you might see a ad related to what sites that you have recently visited. This is in addition to Google ads relevant to your favourite site. This sytem might give a clue as to where others on your pc have visited. It did for me, for my teenage daughter (ads on buying perfumes/hair dyes/soaps, etc) on some sites I frequently visit. But depends if that site/publisher has opted in for interest based ads, and if the relevancy ads displayed are strictly related to recently visited sites. Adsense publishers, like myself had to update and display their privacy policy with links to opting out for the pc user/visitor. So might pay to read the privacy policy on your favourite sites. | 769253 | 2009-04-29 01:26:00 | Likewise - I had to update the privacy policy on my website as well after Google introduced the system a couple of weeks ago. The advertising revenue from Google Adsense is trickling way slower compared to last year, I noticed that :( |
