768963 2009-04-27 19:58:00 Any one want some mega optical storage? See here (news.bbc.co.uk) on the BBC :banana:banana gary67 (56)
768964 2009-04-27 21:40:00 Constellation 3D (C3D) released their FMD (Fluorescent Multilayer disc) years ago which does that kind of storage ... Almost 10 years ago! :D

But wait for it, here's the great part: What color was the Laser?
Guess what color the laser is in BluRay discs? Notice anything special here?
Notice a technology thats a decade old starting to make it "mainstream"? ;)

768965 2009-04-28 09:39:00 So is multi flouro the same as holographic? I had never heard of FMD but then again i'm not into massive server type storage, will be interesting to see if this finally takes off. gary67 (56)
768966 2009-04-28 20:06:00 I'm quite sceptical of new optical media. They still have difficulties getting user-writable media reliable for DVD, so once you ramp up the capacity further, you also ramp up the demands on the quality of the hardware and the media. Paul.Cov (425)
