861593 2010-02-26 01:09:00 Hi

I'm just needing to know whether my PSU will be fine for my system i'm building. Mainly if it will be enough for my video card.

Cooler Master 650W eXtreme Power Plus
Model: RS-650-PCAR-E3

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H
RAM: Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1GB x 2
CPU: AMD Phenom ii 545 X2 3Ghz
VIDEO: Galaxy GF 9600GT low power edition. no PCI-E power connector.
HDD: Seagate 320 GB
DVD: LiteON LH-18A1P

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

861594 2010-02-26 01:15:00 650W will be fine for that. The 9600GT is not a huge power sink. inphinity (7274)

861597 2010-02-26 09:36:00 Hi Funtastic, welcome to PF1.

To be honest you could have probably got away with much less, even 500w, but having the 650w will just give you "room to grow" :)

The fact that the card doesnt use a pci-e power connector states that it doesnt use more than 150w.....The phemon is 120-140w max, so you are a shoe in with anything above 400w

861599 2010-02-27 07:27:00 Awesome thanks for that.

But is there enough amps with that PSU? It has dual 12volt rails 18A on each is that fine?

861602 2010-02-28 19:53:00 Powers fine, not sure why you would want to buy a 9600GT now, hopefully you got it very cheap. Battleneter2 (9361)
