863719 2010-03-03 19:21:00 I have a laptop running Windows XP and want to show the laptop screen on a high definition TV.
When I connect from the svideo port of the laptop to the svideo of the TV my laptop changes from 1680 x 1050 to a screen size of 1024 x 768. This may be ok for a data projector but is not ok on a hidef TV. I am unable to change the screen size in control panel after this automatic switch.
Any suggestions please?

863720 2010-03-03 19:27:00 Use a hidef connection like HDMI or VGA, not SVideo. fred_fish (15241)
863721 2010-03-03 19:28:00 Its probably the only resolution the laptop can handle on the TV, for s-video. Not much you can do about it Speedy Gonzales (78)
863722 2010-03-03 20:07:00 S-Video is not a hi-def connection.
Use the VGA connection or HDMI if the laptop and TV have these.
