862903 2010-03-01 22:45:00 :help: Using Firefox 3.6, I can't download programs off the PC World DVD as the GetRight v6.3E downloader steps in and aborts the download stating, "Sorry only HTTP or FTP protocols are supported". I have done everything I can think of, except uninstalling GetRight, to get around this problem. I have had no success. :badpc:

Any solutions, anyone?

862905 2010-03-01 23:03:00 why not just copy them straight off the disc in explorer?? GameJunkie (72)

He's not downloading from any sites, it's a file from the DVD, it's not HTTP or FTP, it's a local file.

Do what GameJunkie said - open the DVD in Windows Explorer and copy or open the files from there...

862907 2010-03-02 00:10:00 Hold the shift key down while clicking the link.

It is under getright configuration but well hidden.

In Configuration you need to go to General, Monitor Browsers, Types and options, then at the bottom of the page click on the special keys button.

862908 2010-03-02 04:31:00 :thanks for the help guys. I did as suggested. Opened the DVD in Win Explorer, copied the file across and installed from there. Just have to remember that trick for next time. BaldEd (5136)

I have been experimenting with GetRight and the Special Keys. Found that "Shift + click" didn't activate the Click Monitoring Ignore feature, but "Alt + click" did. Can download files off the PC World DVD using "Alt + click".

We learn something everyday. Thanks.
