2009-05-04 22:36:00 | I haven't experienced Vodafone as a customer, but like Billy, I have been happy with Telecom for the last 15 years (I miss my Motorola 6500!!) . The only thing I don't like is their cellphone charges (even on a corporate plan - but VF are no better) and the layout of their bills (absolute crap! very hard to know what you're getting billed for) . Their customer service has been good - on the odd occasion I have needed it . Their coverage is everywhere I need to go - so that suits me just fine . Horses for courses .

Another common Vodafone effect is sounding like they are at the bottom of a sewer pipe. We run handsets on both carriers all over the country and there is no way what you have claimed stacks up, In the event you are getting numerous bad connections you should probably register a complaint to your carrier or switch. I find it a little humourous that you mock others for being biased after making sweeping statement on how Vodafone are at fault for your sub-par experiences on your Telecom connection. |

2009-05-05 01:25:00 | Having had dealings with Vodafone in NZ, Aus and Fiji I cant think of a worse company to deal with, unless of course its Telecom, which is why Im with Vodafone. :groan: Im sure we could justify reintroducing Public Floggings for staff of both companies. ;)

2009-05-05 02:52:00 | I think vodafone is going to look bad in the courts as they refused mediation - there have been mediators appointed to try sort it out but they refused... Vodafone is actually asking for Telecom to be BANNED from using this network... I beleive the case will be thrown out - due to the requirements of competition in NZ, and that Telecom is state owned - and also theres evidence overseas alot of companies use the same network - just simply adjusted to suit theres... Vodafone - wanted prepaid people to be charged for helpdesk assistance as they knew they'd need the $$ for a legal case v telecom...

2009-05-05 03:08:00 | this is all rather funny - im looking for a new cellphone in the next month or so - and this childish banter from VF has completley made me lose any inclination i had to maybe buying a VF phone - im already with telecom and have had no issues with getting another phone with them or ill just not buy another phone - oh noes! :annoyed:

2009-05-05 03:35:00 | Just to clarify things a bit, I have never had my phones drop a call unless I went out of signal range in the old Motorola days when cellsite coverage out in the country wasn't so good . It is Vodafone users whose phones drop the calls, then they call back to apologise and continue the conversation . Their phones don't seem to be able to maintain the connection through brief signal drop-outs such as you can often get when mobile in a vehicle . Also, not all Vodafone calls sound lousy and I didn't suggest that they did, it is just that if the audio quality is awful, I always ask, and the answer is always 'Vodafone' . TDMA doesn't seem to handle weak or distorted signals as well as CDMA does . My present phone is a W531 Worldphone, thanks for reminding me kenj . Cheers Billy 8-{)
