770083 2009-05-02 08:14:00 Vodafone phone is for young people or young people at heart, telecom is for old people.
I dont recall ever having a vodafone call drop out other than being an area of bad coverage.
I just wish vodafone would complete their network, lot of dead area in Whest Ahuckland.

What utter crap all the young ones are on Telecom for the 500 texts for $10 or the boost of 2000 texts to other telecom phones for $10 a month

Vodafone

Vodafone to Vodafone 2000 txts for $10 a month.

Best Mate $6 a month unlimited txts, calls.

Its larger Vodafone out there with the youth. One of my jobs involves coordinating a lot of young leaders, like myself most are one Vodafones network.

770085 2009-05-02 08:50:00 ok all you btched and bastrds. not frm me: "With video recording and editing among other things, coming in iPhone 3.0 in June, I don't think Vodafone will be too worried about loosing existing customers to Telecom and its supposedly upgraded network with flashy new phone when it does arrive at the party. Vodafone should be more concerned about whether its current networks will be able to handle the increased traffic which is part of what was mentioned in the news item on 3 news the other night." rob_on_guitar (4196)
770086 2009-05-02 08:55:00 On the new telekom phones can you swop between fones with a sim card like Vodafone? prefect (6291)
770087 2009-05-02 09:36:00 dont think you can as telecom wants to keep its security features which is a good thing - as alot of phones nicked are usually 021s....not 027s as u cant change owners etc...

but i'll be suprised if u can - and probably can as sim cards are only secured on the card not the phone - but I do know of a feature that u can lock the phone if an unidentified simcard is inserted...but thats auzzy so yeah

770088 2009-05-02 10:03:00 You can change owners of a Telecom phone, but I think the old phone must be disconnected first. I inherited a phone from Dad when he got a new one, and I got his old phone under a new customer. (I've since replaced that phone as it kept turning off. :p) pcuser42 (130)

Yes. The new Telecom phones use SIM cards (just like Vodafone), and are unlocked - so you could buy a Telecom phone, and so long as it supports the right frequencies, use it on Vodafone (using a Vodafone SIM), or overseas. See: www.geekzone.co.nz

Thats between 5-7 times faster than our current wireless broadband connection :illogical.

Ping is a bit of an issue though.

Edit, just found this:

Ignore the ping times, which Speedtest records as being much higher than they actually are, for some reason.
