770437 2009-05-04 23:25:00 I've found Canola oil a real bugger in an aluminium pan for frying eggs. It leaves a dirty brown stain, even, dare I say it, it's almost like plastic! It is very hard to remove even with a scouring pad. I find Cheffade so much cleaner and it seems to get hotter.

Chefade, made from beef tallow.

770438 2009-05-05 08:27:00 Why would you want to remove canola oil residue ? It will only get oily the next time you use it

Do as the professionals do and just wipe the pan, a paper towel will suffice

That I think young PJ is the answer.

770440 2009-05-05 10:38:00 Apparently canola oil is not the best for deep frying, as it does not have good heat stability, hence the varnish type deposits you get.

You need to use a deep frying oil.

Palm oil is supposed to be good.

Vocalist & band?

770445 2009-05-06 06:55:00 Vocalist & band?

Hi Laura, it is Fred Astaire from the film Flying Down To Rio, released end of 1933. Some records are dated 1933, some 1934. It was the first film where Fred and Ginger appeared together. They were not the stars, but second leads, Delores Del Rio and Gene Raymond played the leads, but from that moment on Fred and Ginger just took off into the halls of fame :)

I think on that recording it may be a film studio band, but I'm not sure.

I always thought Fred was a better dancer than Gene.
