770073 2009-05-01 22:01:00 This seems like one major player throwing it's toys out of the cot because the other major player might get some of its business.

Unfortunately for Vodafone, all the noise they're making about the XT network just serves Telecom's interests by helping them embed brand recognition.

Telecom will be loving this!

So right... the old saying applies here, as it does everywhere -"There's no such thing as bad advertising"

Perhaps VF haven't heard that one?

770074 2009-05-01 23:36:00 Yes they both suck.
Vodaphone should have complained months ago. (come on Paul!)
And people have been complaining about their calls on Vodaphone dropping out for years.
I can't wait till NZ Communciations starts and I'll be changing to them as soon as I can (if their coverage is OK) I'm on prepay so it should be easy.

770075 2009-05-02 00:33:00 Vodafone phone is for young people or young people at heart, telecom is for old people.
I dont recall ever having a vodafone call drop out other than being an area of bad coverage.
I just wish vodafone would complete their network, lot of dead area in Whest Ahuckland.

770076 2009-05-02 01:28:00 Lets see.

Coverage-Both suck, dead spots of hundreds of miles in every direction all over the country.Slightly happier with Vodafone.

Price-Both suck.

Spin-Vodafone annoy me the most, But that's due to their hired gun posting on these forums and trying to put massive spin on a rort, He must be used to talking to people thick enough to suck in utter tripe. I find it offensive. Telecom have more maniulative advertising. Both suck.

In store-I have found Vodafone staff far better. More helpful, knowledgable.Willing to put together packages.Good range of phones

Help centre-Never rung either, However I find Vodafone's policy of charging pre-pay customers to make contact disgusting.

The winner-Telecom.

Purely because of Vodafones punch in the face tactics towards its pre-pay customers.

Telecom can go to hell as well.

770077 2009-05-02 02:25:00 I think a lot of this is due to the new iPhone, which is probably why telecom decided to launch earlier than planned. I think Vodafone are trying to delay it, so they can exclusively sell the new phone, on their overpriced contracts, before telecom, who will bring the competition in. I think all ISPs all over the world are as bad as one another robbyp (2751)
770078 2009-05-02 02:53:00 Lol

I find it amusing

There's like 4 GSM mobile networks in Hong Kong and I haven't even see a slight conflict in interference and here comes vodafone playing dirty and calling telecom's network is an interference to their network . Like yea RIGHT!

770079 2009-05-02 04:34:00 I haven't noticed any difference...
Well that's not very surprising as Telecom's trial has been nowhere near you.

and you really think anything will really be that different?

770081 2009-05-02 04:43:00 Vodafone phone is for young people or young people at heart, telecom is for old people.
I like the fact that you think I am young.

770082 2009-05-02 07:06:00 As long as we just have two main providers, the "them" and "us" mentality will always exist :(

One is not right, nor is the other :)

Get over it!!
