771063 2009-05-05 09:50:00 I live in Christchurch but can't use TelstraClear as they did not wire up our street. :crying

The next street has it though. :annoyed:

Do a deal with the neighbour over the back fence and buy some weather-proof Cat5 cable.

771064 2009-05-05 10:19:00 I'm in Welly but we are like 1 or 2km away from the cable!
Well, we don't use it much, so guess we do save money doing adsl with our 4gb a month 256k.

771065 2009-05-05 11:12:00 Could be worse, you could be within 50 metres of it and you still wouldn't be able to use it... had that when I was living in Seatoun- Cable was at the road ten metres from our house, and the Commerce commission forbid residents from using it... Sick Puppy (6959)

771067 2009-05-06 00:47:00 hmmmm that would be shweet you would actually think the internet is part of the local network, 100Mbps would be a hell of a lot better than the measly 1 Mbps for the broadband line williamF (115)
