| 769910 | 2009-05-01 05:25:00 | Is it possible to always get notified of replies like in the old forum? Currently you have to go back to a thread and read any new replies to be able to get emails notifying you of any other replies. The old way you always got an email whenever someone replied, no matter if you had read the other replies or not. I often see a reply in email that is unrelated or not useful to the thread, and I don't bother going to the website. Then someone else might come along and post something useful, and I won't know. Surely there's a way to turn this off? |

Subsequent posts in the subscribed thread are not notified until you have logged back on again. You don't actually have to read the thread to re-activate the notifications. This is the way the standard vBulletin system is set up. I'm guessing there is a plugin available to enable users to choose whether to get every notification, but there hasn't been a demand for it. I just use the option in the UserCP to locate recent subscribed threads and then read the thread to catch up on additional replies. :) |
