| 862987 | 2010-03-02 03:34:00 | I have vista business and win7 professional dual-booting, so we are talking about exactly the same hardware. On Windows 7, if I try to do a very large file transfer (many gigabytes) to a networked PC, after about 10 minutes, the network connection is lost. If I try to do the same thing on vista, it all works fine. I've tested this in several ways: straight file copy, Windows Home Server backup (which is where I first noticed it) and another backup program. I have no idea where to even start looking to solve this, so any suggestions would be welcome. Google wasn't any help - but I might have been asking the wrong question. I wondered if the PC was going to sleep, but I set it to never sleep and it made no difference. |

| 862988 | 2010-03-02 03:47:00 | In W7, click start, start typing in reliability When view reliability History appears, click it, and look at the times you lost the connection - there should be a red circle with a white X click it, below in the Details, there will be a report,See if its anything obvious, otherwise look to the right and see if the blue link that says check for solution - has any thing to offer. | wainuitech (129) | ||

| 862993 | 2010-03-02 09:20:00 | WHS does that install Automatically - mine did it 4th December 2009 - thats when all my passwords turned to crap, had to reset the expiry time and all sorts of "funny" log in things started happening, until I reset them. To check if WHS has installed it, log into the server - add/remove programs - show windows updates Example (www.imagef1.net.nz) Edited: BTW - you can set up remote desktop from W7 to WHS - saves having to log into the server, as I my case its outside in the workshop -- works real nice. |

I use a thing called Remote Desktop Control - same as MS remote desktop, I guess. I use it because I've had it for years. |
