Of course you may already know them, and they may not be appropriate to your use of it, eg single page documents or letters.
But I have been using Word since Word 6 and I've only found them recently.

Styles.
If you type long documents then Styles are a great feature. They are the things at the top right of the ribbon. (many people, me included) just ignore them as if they are some fancy design components for graphic artists etc)
Instead of highlighting text and making it bold or underlined with your mouse, highlight it and then click on a style.
Then if you change a style, all of the text with that style in the document changes!
It can save hours
(But there is a bit to learn)

Table Of Contents
If you have a long document that is hard to get around you can use the Table Of Content feature.
Give all of your headings a style eg Heading 2.
Then Click on the Reference Tab and then Table of Contents and Create
And Voila it creates a table of contents automatically and allows you to jump to any page quickly.
You can also update it later if you add pages etc.
