1449902 2018-05-26 23:20:00 I like your list of favourites, Ken, in particular Dionne Warwick who sang a lot of Burt Bacharach and Hal David music. I love Bacharach and David. They wrote a lot of good music.

There was a time when you could download music for free and so I downloaded many of my favourites, including Bacharach and David and burnt them to CDs which we listen to when travelling around in our motorhome. There are many places around the country where you cannot receive a radio station you like, or in some cases, no radio station at all so a CD is a must.

1449903 2018-05-27 06:09:00 Granddaughter is musical. She can't exist without it, she gets up, puts on Youtube music while dressing, moves to lounge and puts either TV on music, or her laptop.
She sings in the shower, she listens to music on her phone. Never without music if she can help it.

She likes a variety of music.

1449904 2018-05-27 07:13:00 I enjoy the following. BeeGees, Beatles, Neil Diamond, PP&M, Simon & Garfunkle, Dylan, Dionne Warwick, Carpenters, a lot of classical et al.. from those years, all ripped to FLAC. I have a 5 year old, 32GB Sony player (the Android version) and some good quality BT Sony over ear phone's. Love my music!

I have a playlist with about 500 of my favourites and I just play them from beginning to end then start again. Never get sick of them.

Ken :) Only got one comment :banana:banana:punk:punk:punk:banana:banana:banana :punk:punk:punk

its quite funny sometimes, some Modern day group come out with a song, all the teens think its so great -- Then you play the original that came out years ago - ;)

Finally got around to changing the interface ( OK only a cosmetic change) on the media player I use the most. kind of gives the old school look . :) But on the TV/media center I use full screen Visualizations

Whenever I here a cover, It just makes me want to here the original version.
With a few exceptions, cover versions are never as good as the originals, borne out when that cover is forgotten forever quite quickly & the original
still remembered 10, 20, 30 years later :)
I here the cover version on the radio & I think, why are they playing this. Its really not that good.
Often just a sign of a band that run out of original ideas

Quite often, when I was listening to the latest music in the sixties, my father would tell me that song was a remake of a song from the forties or thereabouts and usually he thought the remake was terrible. He was not a fan of sixties music but he did think that The Beatles were good. He said they wrote songs that you could sing along with.

1449909 2018-05-28 23:08:00 I stream from Tunein Radio over night, no comedians to wake up to in the morning. KixFM in Wellington were pretty good, but a bit too much Chili Peppers, Shihad and Foo Fighters for me. Currently listen to GotRadio Classic Rock which is a pretty good mix of 60s-80s, no DJs, and a few American public service ads per hour. Beav (17610)
1449910 2018-05-29 00:45:00 Magic rules. ! :-) News & weather on the hour. Minimal adds. Music from my era. BobM (1138)
1449911 2018-05-29 02:46:00 I try and hold impromptu youtube sessions once a fortnight at one of the bars here. Basically, everyone would get a turn, and with adblocker, no ads. Great range of 50s and 00s songs mostly. Great way to expose people to different stuff the_bogan (9949)
