1449713 2018-05-21 23:31:00 Hi all
My MS Office 365 will soon run out, so what will I do about an Email program. Yes I am aware of Google & Mozzila. But what else has MS got other than plain Outlook not outlook.com? Outlook is too minimal. Using Google somehow seems unprofessional (my opinion only). So you techies who have previews of MS software, what can you say? Thanks. PJ

1449714 2018-05-22 00:17:00 Many just renew it. Single / Personal licence $119

Some will use other software for emails, ( some like eM Client, theres a free and Paid version - Personally had lots of problems with it when trialing) - then discover that all the other programs relating to Office 365 ( word, excel, PowerPoint, publisher etc) all stop working as well, then have to install something else.

Sure there's free programs like Apache (open) office, but some simply don't like the layout as its not the same s they are used to or functions.

So you techies who have previews of MS software, what can you say? There's no real changes in the up and coming as of yet.

Outlook is not too minimal . Its THE professional email client. :-)
Too many things called Outlook :)

Thunderbird would be the alternative email client. Not perfect ,but I use it at home, I like the basic look of it.

1449717 2018-05-22 11:01:00 I thought you were now using Gmail from your other entry.
And I would think that not using Gmail is more unprofessional

My using Gmail is a trial to see if it suits me & me it. It seems to me that it is more professional than basic Outlook. MS Office Outlook.com is better again. This is the one I have on one laptop, plain Outlook is on the other. I think Outlook.com is close to the old Live Mail. PJ

I absolutely agree. Whenever I see a "professional" or trade advert without their own domain name it smacks of amateurism.

If you are on Windows 10, the mail & calendar app is free.
We have it on two systems here.
Our gmail comes through it ok.
There's been a few issues with it, but overall its not bad for a free one.

My GP's surgery have an Xtra address, ditto the dentist. The dental surgery have a website so that makes the Xtra address more puzzling.
