2018-05-11 21:33:00 | I have had this for nearly 2 years. Now we know about the filters in the hose ends, removed them ages ago. BUt it would still take an age to fill. We're on mains pressure too, so not as if it's a rural tank water issue. So now finally found out why. Small plastic plug in the washing machine, where the hoses connect. It has a black washer surrounding a small pointy bit, and this is what allows the water in. See pic.... Removed them and OMG the difference. It fills in a couple of minutes now, like a waterblaster....... Why must the designers do this stupidity? 8821

2018-05-11 21:57:00 | Ours was blocking up with fine silt on the machine input,so I've put a filter in the tap end so it's easier to clean out.Real pain though.I don't think I can remove anything on the machine, but will have another look. Thanks for that!

2018-05-11 23:46:00 | Are they pressure reduction valves? It's what I thought - a regulator. I think there is also one at the tap end for the hot water hose. The plastic inlet at the hot water tap/hose interface fractured on ours. Occurred a few few months After replacing our leaking hot water cylinder with a compact heat exchange h/w unit. I think fractured because of regular high intermittent pressure - and volume once the w/m hot water is turned on.

2018-05-12 05:19:00 | We're on mains. so? doesn't mean you have high mains pressure. you could have low mains pressure. i have the opposite, the local plumber looked at fitting a pressure regulator on my place because our water pressure is so high it may burst the pipes. however washing machine takes ages because of the low pressure hot water cylinder. removed restrictor on the hot valve as well as programmed the machine to keep hot water on for a lot longer. to add, a mates place we dug out part of the mains pipe when doing a reno. found someone had fitted a small diameter pipe. replaced the pipe and suddenly he had much better water flow.

2018-05-12 06:44:00 | so? doesn't mean you have high mains pressure. you could have low mains pressure. . Uhuh. A mains pressure hot water cylinder is made of steel and runs at 600-1100 kPa. Husband WAS a plumber you know. Which is the point. Nothing low about our mains. Now we have removed the idiot thing, the machine fills as it should and wash cycle actually takes the 56mins it says it does, instead of the nearly 2 hours it was.
