| 1448136 | 2018-04-05 10:41:00 | Hi there, my 7-year-old is moving to use a laptop / key board to help with his Dyspraxia. He is a big kid but still a kid. Was thinking of something cheap like a Chromebook or the like to start him off - but also need a programme to help teach a kid how to touch type. We are a windows house so not sure which way to go? Price is not a huge restriction for us – functionality is more important. All advice gratefully received. Thanks |

| 1448137 | 2018-04-05 20:56:00 | Chromebooks don't actually have any software on them I don't think everything is done in the browser such as using Google docs etc. So unless Google make a typing program that probably is't the way to go. The chromebook (lenovo) has since died after 14 months and she is now using her minecraft laptop for school. After all the school stuff is online so it doesn't matter what device she connects with. |

| 1448139 | 2018-04-05 21:21:00 | AS far as cheap goes. Everis 14" non touch screen Only 32GB SSD but I have a 64GB micro drive plugged in.. With mine I use a wireless mouse. Made in Spain. Got W10. I bought it instead of a Kindle. Dont know about typing. From The Warehouse was $299. PJ |

One for example is www.typing.com Really any type of Laptop will do, the best advise I can give is get your child to see what feels comfortable for them. Some laptops feel horrible to type on while others just "feel right". Getting one that suits their feel / and are happy with will be better than one that they don't like using. |

My 32GB Everis is used as a Kindle reader Plus. It is only a cheepie so wont matter to much If I damage it carrying it around. It seems to me that a lot of computers are using small SSD 250 & under as the main. PJ |

That is good advice, his first Laptop and no good if flash if he physically does not attach to it. |
