| 772310 | 2009-05-08 21:58:00 | Went and saw the movie Star Trek yesterday. Nothing really to write home about. The reason for posting this thread is to compare the quality of the movie to playing a DVD on my 40" Sony Bravia LCD TV. BTW this is the first time I have been to the movies in about 10 years or more, cannot even remember the last one I went to. When the movie started I thought yuk where has all the crispness and vibrant colour gone. Watching a DVD when they zoom up to a persons face you can see all the hair follicles, blackheads etc. I have my DVD player connected to my TV by component video cables. Probably the only thing that was better at the movies was the sound in Dolby surround which I don't have. Also when there was an explosion or low end thump it rattled the seats and your body. :) |

| 772314 | 2009-05-09 01:22:00 | My audio crushes anything I have experienced at the movies. Not that I go to the moves very often, My purpose built home theatre is a much better experience. Popcorn is also much cheaper, the beer is cold and I can pause the entire she-bang to take a leak. |

(Except for the initial setup of course!) |
