| 864359 | 2010-03-05 23:47:00 | Our local Seniornet has just installed Windows 7 Pro on a Dell laptop and everything seems fine except none of the functions accessed by holding down the blue FN key seem to be working. Specifically the wireless network doesn't activate and we can't connect to a projector. Any ideas? | mcginty (10610) | ||

You will more than likely have to go to Dells web site and download the appropriate drivers (assuming they have them for W7 or Vista) -- What model of Dell is it ? |

| 864361 | 2010-03-05 23:58:00 | Its a Dell Insprion about three years old. I installed the Win7 RC version on a similar machine last year and it all worked fine. I would expect the drivers to be included but I will see what I can find to download. | mcginty (10610) | ||
| 864362 | 2010-03-06 01:22:00 | I installed the Win7 RC version on a similar machine last year and it all worked fine . Trouble is like most Dell stuff, they dont always use the same components, often one model can have a different motherboard, depending on where it was manufactured . Similar can be completely different parts . SO what may have worked on one, doesn't on others . IF the keys were previously working, Now not after a reinstall, thats drivers . |
