864048 2010-03-04 11:36:00 :D Hi Guys, I'm having a few probs at the moment with a new ipod nano 5th gen i bought. Firstly, for some reason, it won't let me put any copyrighted music onto the bloody ipod, even if the songs are in the WMP already. If I go into properties on any of the tracks and look at the "Is this material protected" statement, they all say yes. Now, this is what I don't get. It keep telling me to go to itunes and buy the bloody songs. Why would I do that exactly when they are all CD's that I have bought myself and have been gathering dust in my entertainment cabinet until about six months ago when I decided to put them on my WMP. I've tried downloading the itunes bloody downloader thing from the apple site (which took about six hours because of my bloody slow speeds, even though I have broadband) supposedly. This just told me that they were protected and I would have to load them up again to put them on my ipod. I'm not prepared to do that (there are about 200 CD's for starters). The second query I have is that I have a few movies and video clips I want to put on it and they won't accept it. They are in .avi format. The ipod suggests I try changing the songs format to AAC or something, I dont think that will help (maybe for some of them) but i've still got the copyright protected crap to deal with. Also, I might try changing my .avi movies into another format for an ipod, anybody got any suggestions? Maybe .wma or something? Some of those weird files types for small devices like ipods and mobiles I really dont have much experience with. Anyway, after all this, I got so angry at my computer I just deleted the itunes downloading software, and tonnes of hidden little files that came with it (be on the look out for these guys if you have to download itunes from apple) they are watching what you download, where you get it and reporting it back! You wouldnt believe the files I found on me on my own computer, just waiting to be sent off. Anyways, theres my problems of the day, any help you nice kiwi guys could give me would be very much appreciated as always. Btw I just bought a second hand pair of Seinhheiser HD 555, usually about 250 Aus, for about 70 on ebay, and they f...king rock. Do yourself a favour, if you've got a floor system and like to blast your drums, get a pair, perfect sound, perfect bass. Ok thanks all. Bye hrb1968 (15344)
864049 2010-03-04 19:48:00 Ipods dont accept AVI, or WMA. And Itunes wont sync video, unless its in MP4 format. And depending on how old the cd's are (that you've brought). I think they are protected. Dont think you can do much about it. Unless you add them to Itunes (if you can download it, so it'll install). Then sync them

Probably wont help if you've deleted Itunes (and its files), without uninstalling it first. You'll have probs installing it / getting it to work next time
