| 771815 | 2009-05-12 02:25:00 | Yes, thanks for asking, Jamuz. Last winter's broken femur has mended well, so I'm not a tottery old lady - well, not the tottery bit, anyway. And delightful though it might have been to journey to the wilds of Northcote to view the species johcar in its native habitat, that Queen St place is sounding better & better, now that you've given a thumbs up to the food. The thing about the johcar species is it's bewildering (to some) ability to adapt to its surroundings. Its native habitat was actually some 700km further south, but it migrated north many years ago when its forbears saw the error of their ways! ;) Its current native habitat has changed almost beyond belief in the last ten years or so, with a huge influx of different ethnicities to the area, but the johcar species still believes that 'north of the bridge' is the most civilised part of Auckland to live... Food is plentiful and very varied (and tasty!) and (most of) the natives are friendly... You'd be surprised, its less than 5 minutes drive if you're already on the motorway to Northcote ... ..Just saying ;) I will go with the flow - Northcote would be nice for me, but I appreciate that access to Northcote for some will not be as easy as the CBD might be. So whatever the majority agrees on. |
