No idea, they are long gone.

Have you actually tried to interface an iPhone with a PC?

864197 2010-03-07 01:37:00 Umm no since I havent got one. But I do have an Ipod. But one did work when someone brought theirs over (with Itunes that is). But this should (www.copytrans.net) work with Ipods and Iphones Speedy Gonzales (78)
864198 2010-03-07 02:46:00 You are wrong, for BillyT to endorse a apple product, it must be right. He just doesn't do it

I used iTunes for about 10 minutes once. It was one of the worst 10 minutes of my life. Completely wasted by a really horrible program (which like Metla said, isn't just crap but also installs a bunch of crap you don't need\want as well)

There are many programs which are just as easy (or easier) that aren't rubbish.

But I prefer quality and features. If it means I have to study the user guide for a week first then so be it. I'd rather the thing do exactly what I want than suck and do what it wants me to want it to do.

Seems I stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest here eh?

Just for the record, I don't play videos, so in the words of that time-honoured expression, QT was gone before lunchtime.

Secondly, I didn't need to read anything to set up iTunes to copy CDs, I had it operational in a couple of minutes, and apart from configuring some screen display preferences, that was it. Put in the CD to be copied, take it out, put in the next CD, take it out. iTunes did exactly what I asked of it and nothing more.

Every single one of the alternatives that I tried (and there were about 5 or 6 of them) failed miserably to match up to that experience, and some were so clunky it wasn't funny. It was a 'horses for courses' situation for me and iTunes won by two laps plus the length of the front straight. I wanted a no hassles CD Ripper and that is exactly what I got.

Others may have had different experiences, but I can only tell it like I saw it so let's move on now.

Cheers

864200 2010-03-07 05:36:00 bloat free install (blogs.zdnet.com) plod (107)
864201 2010-03-07 06:02:00 Installing itunes to use just as an mp3 ripper would be the actions of a madman, especially in light of all the associated filth it installs along with it.

I love this bit from Plods link.

Understanding how this utility works is crucial; it can and will install software you have explicitly rejected if you don’t monitor its actions carefully.

woohoo.. Apple are awesome.

Goddamn I wish itunes/istore could be used as a web based application, Know their crap is on my PC bugs the hell out of me.

Well if it works for you and you like it then that's all that matters really . But from your description I don't see why you didn't just use Windows Media Player?
