| 772728 | 2009-05-12 05:00:00 | When they get up in the KMs the torque converters tend to crap out and are dear to fix. They are very uneconomical compared to a manual transmission in the same car, and they tend to be very rough changing gear if thrashed, not well maintained or when they get upwards of 200,000km. But, if you don’t thrash it and maintain it well, you shouldn’t have any issues. if you have a lead foot, however, the fuel economy you get will be frightening in a V6. The 4 cylinder cars aren't nearly as bad fortunately. Subaru used some Nissan auto transmissions in some of their WRXs and Legacy’s in the early 90s, with the turboed cars they crapped out real quick. |
