771632 2009-05-07 06:18:00 Dont know enough to blame anyone yet . C'mon - you dont have to be to clued up to figure out what happened .

Fresh gunshots have been heard at the Napier house where police are attempting to negotiate with a 51-year-old gunman holed up after a drug search gone awry .

Police were executing a cannabis search warrant around 9 . 30am when shots were fired .

Senior Constable Len Snee of Taradale Police was believed to have been killed, Mr Hoyle said .

Mr Snee's body remained outside the house

Lets see the police are doing a drugs bust - the idiot gets found out and starts shooting police and innocent people .

Yeah real confusion :groan:

771634 2009-05-07 06:30:00 what i dont understand is - why no AOS backup with drug raid....as we all know these days people are more armed with weapons and more likely to defend themselves therefore police deserve backup...

Or why didnt the AOS do the raid themselves?

771635 2009-05-07 07:03:00 We dont do torture here, that makes us as bad as the people we are doing it to.
Need to get all the story before going off half cocked.
It's bad if torture is done on an innocent person.

When it's done of a bloody criminal like this one it's perfectly OK. To me anyway. Because frankly they are not humans, or animal. They don't deserve their 'rights'.

771637 2009-05-07 08:02:00 Set fire to the house, Its his choice then as to whether he wants to die in flames, come out guns blazing, or give himself up. Metla (12)
771638 2009-05-07 08:24:00 I'm no redkneck, but I thought that was what gas was for - he has apparently fired on people trying to reciover the body - would make me think that the local police chiefs are afraid to chance their arms because of all the civil liberties freaks who will follow this up. He should have been taken out within an hour of it starting even if, as Metla said, the place was burned to the ground. Some ****-head lawyer will be rubbing his hands together with another gravy train coming his way. Scouse (83)
771639 2009-05-07 08:32:00 Isn't this the sort of situation teargas is meant for??

Smoke the bastard out - if he comes out with his hands up, let him live, otherwise...

771640 2009-05-07 08:53:00 While we now all support the police in shooting this buggar, please dont forget to give them a hard time when they do.

The cops are screwed both ways.
