My comment is that while Telecom will have the faster network with possibly greater capacity /for now - /Vodafone still has the better product over all + market share + plus a more advanced iPhone coming in June which Telecom doesn't have. Also the current Sony Ericsson being promoted still doesn't come close to the iPhone ( Telecom doesn't even have an apps store for the phone and neither does Sony)

Both will need to continue upgrading their networks and increasing capacity to meet the growing demand from users.

Vodafone doesn't have exclusive rights to the iphone in NZ, so telecom will no doubt sell it to when the new one is released in June. It also runs better and faster on XT, as it runs faster on XTs frequency. Not to mention, that you can buy one from anywhere off contract, and then run it on telecoms network. I believe telecom brought the release date forward to capitislise on the iphone launch, as it is the most revolutionary device, that other manufacturers are now copying. I don't know about ericsson sonys, I used to have one, and they a buggy rubbishy phones, and they have the worst charging cables where the wires break inside the cable.

771588 2009-05-07 08:13:00 Iphone too bulky and doesn't look it is ruggedised enough for a normal New Zealander bloke like me. Might be fine to pull out and impress the chicks well ok blonde ones.
If I was going to get an oversized fone I would get a good ol Canuck Blackberry.
Not sure if the there will be much take up of the big and fast downloads because of the cost on the 3G network.
A lot of people have fancy phones at moment and dont how to use all their features and selections.
Sure the yuppys are gunna have some fun until the monthly bill comes in.

No but apparently you have to walk around even more when making a call instead of standing still and talking. What is with that why do you HAVE to move around just to make a call?
