| 864557 | 2010-03-07 00:45:00 | I have just got Skype installed. Was talking to friends in Aus. We can see them but they can not see us, can hear us ok. Then a message poped up. : Your web cam is incompatible with Skype: The web cam is a microsoft v1000. What sort of cam do I need? | gradebdan (2186) | ||

| 864559 | 2010-03-07 01:44:00 | That article that speedy linked to , is exactly what I had to do with a Web Cam - the drivers that came with the cam were meant for XP-W7, but the Cams Video didn't work until they were downloaded from the manufactures site. I haven't done anything yet as worried about upsetting things as every thing works fine. (just not my cam view) Skype ver. is 4.2.0.152. my win. is xp. The webcam was updated when I connected it 2 days ago. One thing still to do. R/CL On the video to uncheck :hide my picture: but I think for this to work I need a live conn. with someone else. | gradebdan (2186) | ||

| 864563 | 2010-03-07 03:47:00 | if the Cam is working correctly, and the software has installed Ok, then you dont need to be connected with anyone to test it -- As per that Linked article. 2. Then click on the Video Settings. 3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture. You will see yourself looking back at you. Try downloading Yet another Web Cam (http://www.yawcam.com/) - that will tell you if the cam is working Ok or Not. You may also find your Java is outdated or not even installed. |
