| 864452 | 2010-03-06 19:47:00 | I'm at last building a new pc,well I've started with case,ps,drives and optical drive which all should arrive this week. The rest follows as I can afford the bits. Reading up on installing 64 bit, mag reviews state that most programs should run.How do I go about checking that without waiting for the day I fire it up? |

Then it wont work Just make sure whatever peripheral / printer etc you've got has 64 bit drivers (the drivers have to be digitally signed as well), if youre installing win 7 x64 from whatever site. Because 32 bit drivers wont work |

| 864456 | 2010-03-08 04:13:00 | I honestly havent had any real problem with programmes workin on 64bit, I think by now the majority of developers consider that higher and higher percentages of users will be on 64bit due to the RAM restrictions of 32bit | hueybot3000 (3646) | ||
| 864457 | 2010-03-08 09:01:00 | You can download a tool from Microsoft that will check the apps currently installed on your machine for Windows 7 "readiness". www.microsoft.com It checks hardware and software, I guess you can just ignore the hardware side of things... I have yet to see an app that works on 32bit Vista/7 that won't work on 64bit. |
