| 773972 | 2009-05-15 01:56:00 | I bought an iphone 3G off TM which still has 2 months warranty left. I would like to know if anyone is here has bought extended warranty for their phone once their 1st year warranty nearly end ? Cheers | daywalker (14848) | ||

They are NOT a manufactures warranty - they are usually tied up with the store who uses some insurance company - then if something goes wrong, they use every excuse under the sun not to pay out, you cant do this that or the other, Not covered if ....... The list goes on. Edited: Most extended warranties need to be purchased at time of the original purchase. |

Unless you bought from an authorised reseller... even then you might be pushing it, depending on their reputation. | johcar (6283) | ||

| 773976 | 2009-05-15 02:37:00 | trev's right about the CGA - BUT The Act does not cover goods bought by auction or by tender goods bought from a private seller You mentioned it was brought Via Trademe - an Auction place. |

| 773977 | 2009-05-15 03:09:00 | Thanks guys !! The phone was from Vodafone Apple product so it was warranty through them. The phone was actually replaced 2x times, the 1st time was from the original owner claimed to replace due to her accident then 2nd time was from me to claim which I jailbreaked the phone and resulted a software crashed. I brought it into Mobile Phone Repair with the original receipt. They replaced the new phone for me as they did not fix it. This is the reason why I'd ask for extended warranty as it is so protective for your iphone. Btw, I had an awesome deal from TM which I only bought for $480 nzd, sometimes you grabbed 50% off deal. I was lucky!!! |

| 773978 | 2009-05-15 03:14:00 | Well that'd probably kill the warranty, if you tried to jailbreak it. A warranty wouldnt cover something you do illegally. Lucky for you they replaced it. If they knew why, they probably wouldnt have replaced it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

If they knew why, they probably wouldnt have replaced it I've done quite a few research before I jailbreaked the phone and they said restore Iphone will never leave a track of what you have jailbreaked so I try. Iphone will never be more fun if you don't jailbreak it. |
