2009-05-14 03:08:00 | Just wondering if anyone has played both games and thinks its worthwhile picking up number 4 when I already have number 3? Personally I find PGR3 a poor excuse for a driving game......

2009-05-14 03:48:00 | Its not meant to be a simulator though. Ive only ever played 3 and that was for about 10minutes If you havent already got it I suggest GRID...that is a good racing game Or maybe the latest Burnout, its pretty easy though You basically answered your own question though, if you didnt like 3 why would you get 4? Given that generally the longer a series goes the ****er it gets

2009-05-14 03:56:00 | I have no problem with Arcade, what annoys me about PGR3 is the lack of personality for any/all of the tracks, and the focus on cones, drifting, kudos.I just want to race fast cars around interesting tracks. PGR3 would have to have been a rushed product due to being a launch title so it leaves a fair bit of scope for PGR4 to be a better game...If they were that way inclined. As for Burnout Paradise, That has to be one of the greatest games ever made, and its near impossible to win at the higher levels. No good with a wheel though and thats really what I want to make use of. Grid is on my list but cash flow dictates I look at games I can get for under $20...

2009-05-14 03:59:00 | I struggled with probaly the last 5% of Burnout Paradise but other than that thought it was to simple I say save for grid, its worth every cent you pay for it, you would probaly pick it up secondhand cheapish

2009-05-14 04:02:00 | You finished Burnout Paradise?:stare: I'll blame my lack of twitch reflexes on my age. Yeah, Grid, Second hand it goes for $60, I'm not prepared to pay that much based on how crap all the other Race Driver games are, None of them are worth playing so Grid is a bit of a risk.

2009-05-14 04:05:00 | I did indeed, cant remember the final count for how many hours but it was stupid, I had to get the last car! Grid is nothing like the other race drivers, i mean it doesnt even have the v8 supercars in it. And you can set it up to drive like an arcade or almost impossibly real. Have no idea what the steering wheel would go like though, i use an xbox controller on the pc and that seems to be al good

2009-05-16 22:25:00 | I rented Grid. Glad I did as buying it would have been money wasted. Visually the game is stunning but the driving model is perhaps the worst I have ever come across, Cars have zero heft, and bizarre traction. Its not really a driving game at all, You dodge the corners rather then drive around them, and the cars, god damn, The people behind this game must never have driven a car before, The original Toca game had a better driving model....and how long ago was that?, a decade at least. I can see no reason why they can't build a physics model that is as modern as the visuals, I'm not suggesting making this into a sim but just because its arcade is no reason for this horrible crap. This game isn't just poor, Its ****, **** dressed in a very slick suit, and yet it received glowing reviews. Shame. My hopes for the new Formula 1 game just plummeted.

2009-05-16 22:34:00 | For a comparison, Midnight Club Los Angeles has a stunning arcade driving model, It not only reactes as you expect it to but in an exaggerated and very enjoyable manner. It makes driving simple street courses into an insane amount of fun, well, until the traffic kills the experience.
