865952 2010-03-11 02:59:00 I recently upgraded from Office 2003 to Office 2007. I would like to uninstall 2007 and return to 2003. If I do so will I lose my Word and Excel files? What is the safest way to return to Office 2003? Roly Duff (5149)
865953 2010-03-11 03:03:00 Should be fine, if you've saved the docs. But if you've saved any docs as docx, you'll have to install the compat pack to read them in 03 Speedy Gonzales (78)
865954 2010-03-11 03:31:00 Also make sure you back up the .pst file for Outlook if you use it. Just in case it disappears along with 2007 wainuitech (129)

You won't lose your Office files when you install the programs :)

865957 2010-03-11 08:35:00 You won't lose the files, but use the compatibility pack like Jamuz said! Office 2003 and earlier can't read some 2007 files without it.

Easiest way to uninstall is just to use the uninstall option in the Control Panel -> Programs and Features

Stick with 2007 - it is way better.

865959 2010-03-11 09:45:00 Speaking of Office, I see even tho MS say 2010 is coming out in May / June, now they say dont use the 64 bit version. Because none of the addons will work in it  Well, thats great isnt it. Speedy Gonzales (78)
865960 2010-03-11 10:43:00 If you buy office 2007 from now on until the end of October I think, you will be able to download office 2010 for free. CYaBro (73)
865961 2010-03-11 10:46:00 Thats what I read, but on another site, MS said it hadnt even started. The date that was given, was leaked Speedy Gonzales (78)
