My problem is this: Running on VGA, on my BIOS screen, I see this: b.imagehost.org ^So this is correct; the monitor is correctly detecting the resolution as 720x400 But on DVI, my BIOS screen looks like this: b.imagehost.org The monitor thinks the resolution is 1920x1200. As a result, the image control menu (the option to scale 1:1, scale to ratio etc) is greyed out. Also when I set the resolution to 1920x1080 and 1280x720 in windows, the monitor thinks the resolution is 1920x1200, so the image is stretched; there is no scaling possible as the image control menu is greyed out. Other non-native resolutions (eg 800x600), the image control menu is available and image scaling works as it should. I know its not a driver issue, because the issue is happening in the boot and bios screens. |

Here are the larger screens (I copied the thumbnail links by mistake) On VGA: b.imagehost.org On DVI: b.imagehost.org When I set the resolution to 1920x1080 or 1280x720 in windows (which are 16:9 resolutions), they appear stretched on this monitor (it is 16:10). The monitor thinks it is receiving 1920x1200 when the video card is sending 1920x1080 and 1280x720, so the images are stretched. The graphics card is a Geforce 4 ti4200 with a VGA and DVI output. I have installed the video drivers, but they wont make a difference because in the bios screen, the issue still occurs, so I know it isn't a driver issue. There is no way a bios pushes out 1920x1200, as the DVI input of the monitor thinks, otherwise monitors which don't handle that resolution can't display the bios screen. The VGA input of the monitor detects the resolution of 720x400 though. |

| 865116 | 2010-03-08 22:44:00 | That window at the front is on the monitor (its settings) not in the BIOS. Youre not using 196.75 of the Nvidia drivers are you?? Because they'll kill the card. The VGA input of the monitor shows the bios is sending out a 720x400 image... I was using the bios to illustrate the problem, since the bios/boot screens definitely don't send out 1920x1200 images... |
