Telecom has revealed they're not selling Iphones @ launch of XT network

Telecom will not be selling the iPhone when it launches its XT network on Friday week, but there is some relief for prepaid mobile users, who will be charged by the second for calls after the first minute of their call.

Nine handsets will be available at the launch of XT, ranging from a $149 Telecom-branded phone through to Nokia's E75 and N85 smartphones, which will be available from 1 June

775211 2009-05-20 00:00:00 There are plenty of other brands that Telecom isn't selling either. WCDMA is uncharted territory for Telecom, so it will likely be a while before there are deals with all of the major manufacturers. Nermal (7077)
775212 2009-05-20 00:01:00 No iPhones at launch date does not mean no iPhones at all, ever.

I have been told that the iPhone works perfectly well on XT, it just some of the specific Vodafone Live! content that won't (no real loss).

I imagine that Telecom are in negotiation with Apple to be able to provide similar services to their competition and sell the iPhone (it would be no skin off Mr Job's nose...)
